About Norsam Technologies


Norsam Technologies is a research and development company that began in 1995 when Norsam's founders received the exclusive license to focused ion beam technologies developed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Since its inception Norsam has created many innovative applications for the focused ion beam technologies.

The Norsam/3Beams team consists of a committed group of employees and subcontractors, 250 shareholders and an active Board of Directors. John Bishop is Chairman of the board and along with Randy Loemker serve as Co-Presidents. Norsam's headquarters moved from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Hillsboro, Oregon in 1997. The following is a brief introduction to the company's team leaders and board members.

Norsam Technologies - Officers

John Bishop - Co-President, has served as a Director of Norsam Technologies since its inception in October of 1995. John sells the company's products and services, works with Norsam's technical staff and consultants and negotiates technology and business development agreements with other companies. In 1980, John helped found and develop Day Runner, Inc. (formerly Harper House, Inc.) of Los Angeles, California, a manufacturer of the Day Runner Organizers, and served as that company's Chief Operating Officer from 1982 to 1986.

Randall D. Loemker - Co-President, Previously employed by Intel Corporation as Finance Manager for a technology development wafer fabrication factory in Santa Clara, California. He was employed by Intel Corporation from August 1994 to September 2001 as, initially, a Senior Financial Analyst and, subsequently, as Finance Manager, for Components Manufacturing Consolidations. In all of these positions, Mr. Loemker has been responsible for the forecasting and budgeting of Intel's manufacturing organizations. Previously, from 1988 to 1994, he served in similar positions involving financial analysis for the semiconductor divisions of Texas Instruments, Inc. Mr. Loemker received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico in 1982 and his Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.

Norsam Technologies - Board of Directors

Herbert Beenhouwer, a Director, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College in 1950. From 1961 to 1972, he was a registered representative and securities analyst for two brokerage firms. From 1972 until 1986, he provided a research service for institutional investors of Lieber & Co., focusing on electric utilities in the West and Southwest. In 1986, he became a full-time electric utilities securities analyst for Lieber & Co. and continued in that position until his retirement in March of 1996.

Carl Berney, a Director, was a founder in 1977 and currently employed by Centigram Communications Corporation, a publicly held company involved in voice recognition and response systems. Mr. Berney's professional background includes sales and marketing support as well as development and systems engineering with several start-up technical companies. His experience also includes design and development of hardware and software for mini/micro based systems requiring on-line, real-time response and graphic interfaces. Mr. Berney has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Monmouth College in New Jersey.

William McNaughton, a Director, retired in 1986. Prior to retiring, he was employed from December 1963 to 1986 by Control Data Corporation in several positions, including Sales Engineer in Northern California, District Sales Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico, General Manager in the company's home office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and contract negotiator and administrator at the company's regional office in New Jersey. Mr. McNaughton received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1944, and his Masters degree in Business Administration from Stanford University in 1948.

Michael M. Tyson, a Director, is currently retired. From 1980 to 1987, he opened and managed a branch office for Kidder, Peabody and Company in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1987, he resigned as Branch Manager and returned to the position of Vice President of Sales where he remained until he retired in 1993. Mr. Tyson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College in 1959 and his Masters degree in Business Administration from the same institution in 1963.
